ESN Sarajevo was founded in 2006 as the first ESN section in Bosnia and Herzegovina. 

Today, ESN Sarajevo brings together over 30 members who volunteer in four different teams. Newcomers have the chance to choose between the Partnership team, Event team, PR team and IT team. 

The Local Board for 2025/2026 includes:

Each semester, ESN Sarajevo organizes a variety of fun activities to help international students connect, explore, and feel at home. From cultural events like city tours and traditional dinners, to hikes, day trips, sports games, and volunteering opportunities, there’s something for everyone. Through these experiences, students get to discover Sarajevo’s culture, meet new people, and make the most of their time abroad.

Beyond local activities, ESN Sarajevo is also actively involved in international projects. One of the most significant is ESN-AIR (ESN Adriatic-Ionian Region), a collaboration between ESN sections from Ancona, Tirana, Mostar, Sarajevo, and Podgorica. It was first introduced to the ESN Italy network during the conference “ESN-AIR: Civic Engagement and Cooperation with Universities” and has since become a cornerstone of regional cooperation. 

Thanks to its active involvement and contribution to the project, ESN Sarajevo was proud to receive the Cooperation Award, highlighting its dedication to strengthening international partnerships and creating meaningful opportunities for students across borders.

Winter semester 2025/2026

With the winter semester just around the corner, ESN Sarajevo is thrilled to welcome a new wave of international students and help them have an unforgettable time in Sarajevo. We have carefully prepared 16 days packed with exciting activities and nonstop entertainment!

Welcome week kicked off in the best way possible - with an incredible Welcome night party on Friday, followed by the City tour on Sunday, where we got to meet everyone and help them learn more about Sarajevo and its rich history and culture. 

In the upcoming weeks, there’s a lot to look forward to, from Speed friending and a lively Pub Crawl, to exciting daytrips, like the scenic Trebević hike and a trip to Mostar.

With so many activities in plan, this winter semester promises plenty of chances to explore, have fun and create unforgettable memories with ESN Sarajevo!
